Wow! This was really neat!

http://www.weddingmapper.com/plan_wedding/ca/cabazon/0h7udz

Robynn and Jeremy were the nicest couple to work with!

Mr. and Mrs. Coleman

Here are the flowers and the Cake I did for my friend Emily's wedding. It was a long two days but very worth it. I was really happy with the way the flowers turned out despite the heat.

Her bouquet was a mix of gardenia's, lisanthus, peonies ( yes peonies in July! who would have thought they would still be around!) and ranuculales.

And the cake..... top layer was funfetti ( Mike insists it be called speckled...he was the groom after all) with strawberry cream cheese filling and the bottom two layers were white cake with strawberry cream cheese filling. Perfect for summer!

Wow! has it been almost a year?!?

I can't believe it has been so long since I lasted posted. I'll chalk it up to being busy with family, friends, cakes and of course flowers!

Let's start with the most recent tasting I did for a Bride who is getting married in April. She wanted to taste my apple spice cake and the chocolate cake and left the fillings up to me. I decided it was time to experiment with some new flavors!

The chocolate was filled with Mocha buttercream. (perhaps because it was late and I was tired and coffee sounded good but I knew it wasn't a good idea to drink right now!) The outer frosting was buttercream.....

The apple spice was filled apple cream cheese and covered in a light cream cheese frosting! (my favorite!)

Both were a hit :-) Now I just wait for the call to let me know if they decided to go with myself or the local bakery here in Yucaipa! I will add pictures later this evening of the cakes.

Birthday Cake! MmmmmMmmm..

Here is a cake I did for my mother -in -laws 50th birthday! It was a fun "happy" cake. Homemade cream cheese frosting, white cake, with a mixed berries and cream filling yummy! I love experimenting with new filling flavors, especially if it involves fresh fruit. My husband is especially happy when I experiment because he always get's to sample first!

A Country Wedding

Just finished another wedding cake for a friend of mine! Yeah! Brandy and Scott had a wonderful country wedding up in Oak Glen at Riley's Farm( you should check it out, it is one of the prettiest places to get married! http://www.rileysfarm.com/ ). Sun Flowers, gingham, country music and a beautiful spring day, can't beat that for a wedding!

The cake turned out wonderful, it was four layers with butter cream frosting. Starting from the bottom it was carrot cake & cream cheese filling, white cake & strawberry cream filling, and the top two were chocolate with cherry filling. Decorated with sunflowers, daisies, and polka dots, I think it fit Brandy's personality to a "T". Of course I forgot to bring my camera with me to snap a quick shot before it was cut into, thankfully Mike the wedding photographer got some great shots!

Wedding Flowers

Finished the sample flowers for Jackies upcoming wedding at Riley's Farm. She is going for a simple country wedding with a rustic feel. Very cute! My July will have two busy weeks of wildflower bouquets and centerpieces. After Jackie's wedding I will be making a cake for a civil war wedding! Looking forward to that one. I just love weddings in general!
